Cat’s Meow Village wooden collectible featuring South Bass Island Lighthouse, located on the southern end of South Bass Island in Lake Erie. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places on April 5, 1990, it is believed to be the only lighthouse in the United States owned by a university — The Ohio State University.

Increasing tourist traffic in the late 1800s prompted the Lighthouse Board to approve construction in 1893, marking the southern passage from Sandusky to Toledo. The site chosen was Parker Point on the southwest corner of the island.

Unlike typical lighthouse designs with a detached keeper’s dwelling, South Bass was built as a large red‑brick, two‑and‑a‑half‑story home with an attached twelve‑foot tower.

Handcrafted from 3/4" thick wood in the Wooster, Ohio workshop with colorful detailing.

Designed by artist Faline Fry Jones, these pieces sit neatly on shelves, window trim, wainscoting, or display ledges.
