Cat’s Meow Village wooden collectible featuring the Fort Gratiot Lighthouse in Port Huron, Michigan. The original 1825 tower stood 32 feet high but collapsed into the St. Clair River during a severe storm in 1828. A new lighthouse was built in 1829 at a better location, originally 65 feet tall and later upgraded to 82 feet in 1862.
Fort Gratiot is Michigan’s first lighthouse and remains active today, watching over one of the busiest waterways in the world. It is listed on the National Historic Register.
Each piece features a colorful illustrated front and a short description on the back. Designed by artist Faline Fry Jones, these pieces sit neatly on shelves, window trim, wainscoting, or display ledges
