Cat’s Meow Village wooden collectible featuring the Sanibel Lighthouse, located on the eastern tip of Sanibel Island, Florida. In 1883, Congress granted $50,000 to build the lighthouse — but just two miles from its destination, the ship carrying the iron tower sank. Fortunately, most of the pieces were recovered, and the lighthouse was successfully constructed and lit on August 20, 1884.
The Coast Guard electrified the light in 1962, and today the lighthouse belongs to the City of Sanibel.
Handcrafted from 3/4" thick wood in the Wooster, Ohio workshop, this piece includes colorful detailing on the front and a printed story on the back.
Look closely — Casper the black cat is tucked into the scene, keeping watch over the shoreline. Designed by artist Faline Fry Jones, these pieces sit neatly on shelves, window trim, wainscoting, or display ledges.
